METRO's humble beginning started at Rajkot, Gujarat in 1978 from the sheer determination and hard work of two bright and enterprising young men. Both, Suresh Patel and Shantilal Patel (AKA Ashok Patel) joined hands in making their dream of a successful company a reality. The company started to design induction furnace for heat treatment, and melting of steel, copper and brass foundries. 1989- GOLD BONDTM The company noticed that induction was not used in melting precious metals in India as no affordable and reliable solution existed in India. All the melting machines were imported which were costly and not suitable for Indian power grid. The company was able to design and produce induction systems for precious metals sector through their experience and expertise in induction systems for large capacities. Thus the GOLD BONDTM series of melting furnace was introduce which was able to melt 2kg of gold. This was one of the India's first gold melting furnace which was indigenously designed and manufactured in India. 1998- GOLD CASTTM Introduced one of the India's first bottom pouring vacuum casting machine with GOLD CASTTM series. 2000- GOLD MINETM Introduced 20kg and 30kg gold melting furnace with gearbox assisted Tilting mechanism 2006 - GOLD COINTM GOLD COINTM series machines were introduced whose melting capacity was 500gm. The aim was to introduce a transparent old gold exchange solution were the melting was done in front of the customer in the showroom, then weighed and through spectrography actual gold content was determined. This revolutionized the India's jewelry retail space by increasing transparency and curbing the dubious practices. Titan Company was one of the first client to take advantage of this series. 2011-NANO GOLDTM Introduced India's smallest induction melting of 250gm gold under NANO GOLDTM brand. This was targeted towards small retailers were space was an issue. 2019-GOLD MINETM Update Updated the GOLD MINETM series furnaces (20kg and 30kg gold) to IGBT based inverter which increases the efficiency of the furnaces and also reduces the footprint by 50% Today METRO has an ISO 9001:2015 certified manufacturing facility of 20,000 sq. ft and is one of the leading players in the rapidly growing Induction Melting industry. With an absolute focus on research & development of new products in Induction Solutions, the word “METRO” has now become synonyms to induction melting for gold industry in India.
